I was first hired to sell life insurance by Prudential in 1971 in
Montgomery, Alabama. I later went to work selling life
insurance door to door for Pan American Life in 1973 in
Tallahassee, Florida. After several years working in
management for Morrison’s cafeterias, I went to work
running a debit for Liberty National in 1977. In 1984, I went
to work for United Family Life, working with their
information technology department, working with claims
and investments.
I started my own information technology consulting
company (Effective Business Solutions) in 1991, consulting
with fortune 500 companies. These companies include Coca
Cola USA, AT&T, Philip Morris, American Express, Target,
KPMG and PriceWaterhouse, specializing in financial areas
of HR, Payroll, Taxes and Retirement Plans.
In 2001, I stopped traveling to join my wife’s CPA firm,
Barcom Financial and Accounting Services, PC. Together
we are able to provide a full range of financial services and
small business consulting. Susan handles accounting, taxes,
the IRS and securities. I worked with securities, retirement
planning, and technologies. I also work with our clients as a
business management consultant to help them grow their
businesses, hire and train new employees, devise marketing
plans and establish good accounting and sales tracking
systems.
In 2005, we sold Barcom Financial in order to concentrate on
building on our financial services activities. We joined the
Nationwide Financial Network in May of 2007.

Susan C. Barnes

Susan Barnes began her career as a Revenue Agent with the IRS in 1982. Her areas of expertise were in the IRS Examination Division and the Employee Plans Division. The Atlanta Federal Executive Board chose Susan as the Professional Employee of the Year for the Southern Region in 1985.
Susan Barnes started her own CPA firm in 1993. She works with hundreds of individuals and small businesses to develop tax and financial strategies to help clients build on their financial future.
Susan currently serves on the Board of Directors of Tech-Knowledge Learning Centers, Inc., a nonprofit organization, and as the Treasurer of the Gwinnett Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA).

A seasoned professional in the field of employee benefit plans and commercial and personal life insurance services, Neil has served the needs of businesses and individuals in the Greater Atlanta Area for over 30 years. Most recently, he was a producing agent with the Norton Agency in Gainesville and AAA Insurance Agency in Marietta, where he placed a number of commercial property and liability policies as well as individual auto, home and umbrella insurance policies. Prior experience includes marketing and servicing group insurance plans for BCBSGA, Prudential and Met Life for small to mid-size employers throughout Georgia. With his broad insurance background, Neil has gained valuable experience meeting the needs of his business and individual clients. He is able to tailor insurance coverage for each client and offer competitive pricing through a broad range of insurance carriers.
